How do I choose a suitable concrete mixer batching plant?

 Ideally a batching plant should provide 2 things, accurate batching and homogeneous mix, in the shortest possible cycle time.

Quantity of concrete: Choosing a batching plant is about understanding the amount of concrete requirement for the project and PEAK concrete requirement in a day.

Space Availability: First thing in space availability is, is the space available at the construction site or will the batching plant be placed far from the placing area. This decides the transportation method. Next is how much of space is available? This decides what sort of batching plant can you host, either compact structure or bigger structure.

Change in location: How frequently will the plant be shifted? If it is frequent shifting, say every 3 or 6 months, you have to factor in how many trucks are required to transport the plant and also factor in ease of shifting the plant.

Concrete delivery: Depending on where the plant is placed and placing method (either transit mixer or concrete pump) the suitable batching plant needs to be decided.

Cost: Cost involves 2 parts, the initial cost which determines the investment but not tough to decide, however the maintenance cost depends on the frequency of the parts change vs number of parts to be changed vs cost of the parts.

After Sales: This is a major deciding factor. Any machine is prone to wear and tear, especially while it deals with as harsh material as concrete. Choose a manufacturer who is easily approachable and available closer to you with respect to service and spares. This reduces the parts you will need to store as a customer, thus reducing inventory.
